Christmas season

Dear Parents,
It was nice to see so many parents at the parent-teacher conferences. I love it when I am able to tell you what a great child you have. They are all wonderful.

Please keep the papers that I gave you for math, because you will need them! We are working through multiplication using different methods to calculate the answers. It is important that the children understand why and how numbers work. Remember to practice the multiplication facts, even if they don't write it in their assignment book.

The children are getting excited about Christmas, but we are still hard at work. Mr. LaRue will be in on Wednesday to do a presentation on the body systems. We are studying the make up of the human body in Science.

The Christmas party is being planned. We won't be exchanging gifts, but if you could send something for the classroom, we can still open them as a class. We could use paper towels, disinfecting wipes, tissues, and also things to do for indoor recess. They love Playmobile, arts and craft materials that are consumable, such as coloring books, etc. The party will be on Monday, Dec22 at 1:30.

I hope you find joy in the Holiday season.

November 24, 2008

Happy Thanksgiving! Since this is a shortened week, we will not be having a new spelling list, but we are reviewing. Today the children took a test on the priority words.

Next week we will be having conferences on Wed afternoon and Thurs morning. If you haven't set up an appointment, please send me a note or call for an appointment.

Before you know it, we will be getting ready for Christmas. Ms. Gagnon will be calling some parents to provide snacks for our party which will be on Monday, Dec 21. I will decide soon on whether we should have a gift exchange, or give a gift to a charity. Please let me know if you have any suggestions, as I just want to do what is easiest for you. I understand the pressure of getting everything done for Christmas and no one needs the extra stress.

Our class won a chance to participate in the pig race. We were the class that raised the most items for the fundraiser! Thank you for your participation.

I hope you have a pleasant holiday with family and friends.

Dear Parents,

Welcome to my new blogspot. I am just learning how to do this, so I hope you don’t expect too much! The picture is of my Grandson, because his picture is much cuter than mine!

Our Thanksgiving feast is this week and we have much to be thankful for. One thing, your children are precious gifts put in your care for a relatively short time. I hope you enjoy every minute of your time together. Thank you for your donations to the food pantry, they are much appreciated.

The children have been busy working on their New Hampshire report with Ms. Brazell, Mrs. Mistretta and myself. We went to the Smart room to do some research on New Hampshire web sites. This week we will start the word processing part of our report.

Please keep practicing the Math facts with your child. I hope to see a big improvement with the timed test we will be taking this week and the other tests later in the year. We will also be taking a test on Chapter 4.

Almost everyone has brought in a loose leaf notebook to keep their National Geographic magazines in. This makes it a lot easier for all of us.

I look forward to meeting with you in a couple of weeks.

Sincerely,
Ms Hamilton
