Dear Parents,

Our time together is winding down quickly and the kids are very excited for summer vacation! Yet, they are somewhat hesitant and apprehensive about going to the Middle school. To relieve their anxiety, we will be taking them to see their new school and meet their teachers on June 13.

First we need to get Spring Fling underway! The kids look forward to this with much anticipation each year. This will be our second year of holding most of the events indoors. Our festivities begin at 11:00 and continue through dismissal time. If you would like to dismiss your child when you are here, please remember to sign them out in the classroom. Also, the fourth graders are responsible for providing the baked goods for the bake sale. Please remember to let the Spring Fling committee know that you will be bringing something.

Spring Fling will come at the end of a very busy week of assessments. The children will be taking the end-of-year Math assessment, as well as the end-of-year Reading and Writing assessment. They just completed their writing project for their portfolio, and I am pleased to say they were very persuasive in their letters to me about a place that I should visit this summer. I thought they were great!

Next week we will have the opportunity to go to Strawberry Banke at the end of the week. I have enough chaperones, and have contacted the people who will accompany us. Thank you for volunteering.
